(BALTIMORE, MD) — (January 14, 2008) —The front cover feature for the February issue of PREVIEWS, the comic shop’s catalog, has been beset by the terrifying stars of Dark Horse Comics’ ALIENS #1, the start of a four-part series that re-introduces readers to these extraterrestrials of sci-fi fame.

The story opens as a group of planetary prospectors discover a world rich in land and resources, but one that’s also home to a mysterious dead city and ravenous creatures they’ve now disturbed. The first of three classic Dark Horse/Fox comic series to be relaunched, ALIENS is written by B.P.R.D.’s John Arcudi and illustrated by Sean of the Dead’s Zach Howard.

But the Aliens aren’t the only ones making a comeback. In the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Barry Allen sacrificed himself to save worlds. Now, following the events of Final Crisis, the Scarlett Speedster that sparked the Silver Age of comics re-emerges in the modern DC Universe in DC Comics’ THE FLASH: REBIRTH #1, PREVIEWS’ back cover feature this month.

This five-part mini-series is presented by writer Geoff Johns and artist Ethan Van Sciver, the same team behind the highly acclaimed Green Lantern: Rebirth and The Sinestro Corps War. Though Barry managed to beat death, another speedster wasn’t so lucky. How will The Flash legacy now be redefined?
