Fantasy InvestingTime to add up the values and see whose picks are on the leader board for Fantasy Investing: Round Three.

LAST MONTH'S FANTASY INVENTING PICKS

After the first round of Fantasy Investing, my picks basically held their ground. In the end, my investments took a hit of just $10, which kept me in second place behind Ilya.

Things turned around after the second round. Wolverine's first cameo appearance helped out, and I ended the month with a $100 profit.

Fantasy InvestingFor April's picks, I put my fantasy dollars behind:

(8.0) Incredible Hulk #180

Current FMV: $775 (+$50)

(9.8) The Mighty Thor #337

Current FMV: $450 (-$25)

(9.2) Amazing Spider-Man #300

Current FMV: $375 (+$25)

(9.8) Amazing Spider-Man #361

Current FMV: $400 (+$50)

(9.0) Avengers Annual #10

Current FMV: $90 (no change)

Total Investment Value: $2,090

Fantasy InvestingI like my picks, and I would keep them the same, but I have to follow my own rules. That means that one of them has to go.

While I may regret this move, I am selling Avengers Annual #10. It's been consistent, and I anticipate a quick spike if Rogue is announced for Captain Marvel 2. Nothing is certain, but it is a distinct possibility at this point. In the immediate future, I see the first appearances of Wolverine, Venom, and Carnage having the stronger upsides.

I'm also selling off the 9.8 Thor #337 to make room in the budget to upgrade my Hulk #180 to an 8.5 for $850 and invest in a 9.8 Secret War #2. Why Secret War? I recently advised picking up Quake's first appearance since news is spreading that the Secret Warriors have an MCU project underway. I'll put my fantasy dollars where my mouth is and spend $80.

Fantasy Investing - Sweet ToothThe hot comic du jour is Sweet Tooth #1, which has been picked up by Netflix. At a 9.8, it's worth the $150 investment. I'll also downgrade my Thor #337 to a 9.6 and add a 9.8 Mighty Avengers #13. All of that leaves me with $3 remaining.

Fantasy Investing RulesTHE RULES

With a starting budget of $2,000, how much profit can you make from comic investments? Here are the rules (so far):

  1. This is only for graded comics and their averages based on current values calculated by GoCollect.
  2. You can only buy one grade per comic, so no buying $2k’s worth of one hot book.
  3. Once you post your pics, they are locked for a month.
  4. You can have as many or as few comics as you like, as long as you don’t exceed the $2k budget.
  5. Only comics with a current GoCollect Fair Market Value can be used.
  6. Universal grades only.
  7. At the end of each month, the winner is determined by the biggest profit margin over the initial $2k budget.
  8. You have to sell at least one of your comics each month.
  9. Spend it or lose it. If you still have money left in your budget, it doesn't carry over to the next round.
