She-Hulk has a following to be sure, but it appears to center around the Sensational She-Hulk second series. Apparently, this fan-favorite created by John Byrne (script/pencils) muscled her way into the hearts and minds of Marvel fans everywhere. The Sensational She-Hulk was created in 1989. Since then she has appeared across Marvel in the Avengers, the Defenders, even the FF. Today, fans still communicate their appreciation of and preference for the Sensational She-Hulk series. During this series, she was constantly breaking the "Fourth Wall" much like Deadpool. This unique aspect of She-Hulk has not been well-publicized outside her immediate fan base. We know She-Hulk can sling one-liners but can this green bombshell produce the greenbacks?

Sensational She-Hulk #1

This femme fatale could match Deadpool humor without the excessive use of violence, bloodshed, or scatological humor. It might even play well and make this character stand out. I just hope they pick an actress both sexy and intelligent to play She-Hulk. Time will tell, but meanwhile, does this book present an avenue to potential profit?

Long-Term

  • Grade 9.8 $100 FMV returns positive +65.9%
  • Grade 9.6 $50 FMV returns positive +61.6%
  • Grade 9.4 $50 FMV returns positive +43.4%
  • Grade 9.2 $42 FMV returns positive +37%

These numbers look better than She-Hulk's biceps. The long-term numbers have only picked up late last year due to extreme short-term volatility. Very strong long-term numbers, this seems to stem from significant short-term strength. Of course, this does not include PayPal or eBay fees. Please always include those in deciding whether to buy or not.

Short-Term (1-year)

  • Grade 9.8 $100 FMV returns positive +59.2%
  • Grade 9.6 $50 FMV returns positive +36.2%
  • Grade 9.4 $50 FMV returns positive +53.7%
  • Grade 9.2 $42 FMV returns positive +26.3%

The results will make you turn green with envy. It serves me right for not reading this book when it first came out. This fan-favorite has plenty more room to run. The great news is that when it runs up, the fans won't sell as they adore this version of She-Hulk. Therefore, we can assume that the price will rise and stay there. You might not make as much money as Savage She-Hulk #1 but it will probably hold some of the gains from the TV series better. Sensational She-Hulk #1 has the power to punch profit into the stratosphere. I recommend a buy on this book.

Savage She-Hulk #2

Another minor key that has value and can return much for small risk is Savage She-Hulk #2. This is the second issue of She-Hulk in her first stand-alone series. Savage She-Hulk #2 was created by David Kraft (script) and John Buscemi with Mike Vosburg (pencils) in 1980. This is a good alternative for folks looking for a cheap way to participate in the She-Hulkathon that is about to commence when the series hits Disney+ sometime next year.

Long-Term

  • Grade 9.8 $150 FMV returns positive +68.8%
  • Grade 9.6 $70 FMV returns positive +98.8%
  • Grade 9.4 $48 FMV returns positive +186.2%

This book is following Savage She-Hulk #1 down the profit highway. Grade 9.4 is an impressive return at +186.2%! In addition, another bit of good news is the relative lack of issues that are GCC's. The current CGC Census has 97, yep only 97 books. This leaves a lot of room to run-up. If you have an 8.5 grade or above, send it in to be slabbed. Reminder to press your book before sending them to slab for the best results. Pressing a book before you send it in to CGC is one of the only ways to score a 9.8 unless you are very, very lucky, or good. Press your Savage She-Hulk #2 before you wreck yourself.
