The first issue of the new EVIL ERNIE series has hit 30,000 pre-orders.

The press release follows:

Media Release -- The Evil One is back, as Dynamite announces the upcoming Evil Ernie #1 locked in its final orders from fans and retailers at 30,000 copies. The issue is set to release December 1.

This makes the new series by writer Scott Lobdell (Uncanny X-Men, Teen Titans) and artist Ariel Medel the bestseller for the character through Dynamite. The story by Lobdell is set to reinvent the persona of Evil Ernie, with a new avatar in Ernest Gleckman, and a new mission connected to the death that follows in his wake.

The first issue is available with two standard covers, by superstar Brett Booth and horror icon Arthur Suydam. Fans and collectors were excited by three unique bonus covers only available during "Final Order Cutoff." One by Stuart Sayger evokes the horror roots of the 30 years-running Chaos universe. Then a pair of homages to legendary comics received overwhelming support from fans and retailers. Artist Ken Haeser pays homage to Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While Jamie Biggs portrays Ernie swinging along like one wall-crawler from Todd McFarlane's Amazing Spider-Man #300.
