Toys for TotsMedia Release -- Local comic book stores in the Washington D.C. metro area have joined Entertainment News International LLC (ENI) to form the first annual Superheroes for Toys for Tots toy drive in support of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. A supporter of the Toys for Tots program for more than four years, Entertainment News International chose to increase its level of support during a year when many families may struggle to provide toys during the holidays. Joining Entertainment News International in a coordinated toy drive are Alliance Comics, Beyond Comics, E.G. Comics, and Big Planet Comics with locations in Maryland and Virginia.

“Finding a present under the tree Christmas morning is an experience every child should have an opportunity to experience”, says Entertainment News International president Jay Cochran. “Superheroes bring hope. We want to be a part of putting hope in the eyes of children in our community.” If you are in the Washington DC metro area, come to one of these locations to make a donation. If desired, cool action figures and collectibles are available at each location to purchase and donate.

About The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to provide fundraising and other necessary support for their annual Toys for Tots Program. Now in its 62nd year, Toys for Tots provides hope and happiness to economically disadvantaged children through the gift of a shiny new toy during the Christmas holiday season. Our gifts offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory they will cherish for a lifetime. Many of the gifts we provide, such as books, games and sports equipment, make a significant contribution to the educational, social and recreational interests of these children. In 2008, Marines distributed gifts to 7.6 million children in over 650 communities nationwide. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation relies on individual donations from the American public and is supported by corporate sponsorships. For more information, visit www.toysfortots.org.
