Emily and the Strangers #2 (Buzz Parker cover)Media Release -- Cosmic Debris, announced today that they have partnered with Kickstarter.com, the world's largest crowd-funding platform for creative projects, to jump-start the musical career of their renowned character, Emily the Strange. Creator of Emily the Strange and owner of Cosmic Debris Rob Reger hopes to raise $55,000 dollars in the next 30 days to produce and release the first ever Emily the Strange animated music video and rock-n-roll single. This initial release officially launches the character's virtual animated band "Emily and the Strangers."

Emily the Strange is well known for her rock-n-roll style, individualism and her motto, "Be Yourself, Think for Yourself, and Do it Yourself" all of which will be an integral part of the band and the music. Reger shares, "It has been my lifelong dream and vision to make Emily (and the Strangers) into a REAL BAND… and to share her empowering message through animated music and a voice that rocks!" Kickstarter says, "backing a project is more than just giving someone money. It's supporting their dream to create something that they want to see exist in the world."

The Emily and the Strangers Kickstarter incentives range from an Emily the Strange Epiphone SG guitar and limited edition art prints, Dark Horse Comics and trade paperbacks collections of Emily the Strange, as well as appearing as a character in the Emily and the Strangers animated music video.

If the goal of $55,000 is reached, the campaign will culminate with an official Emily and the Strangers release and video premiere at Comic Con San Diego in July 2013.
