Did Dwayne Johnson just reveal the biggest surprise in Black Adam? WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.

In the age of spoilers, the actor seems to have a new approach to trolls looking to ruin the fun. In the words of Thanos, “Fine. I’ll do it myself.” Rather than waiting for videos to post online, the Black Adam star, in no certain terms, acknowledged what we’ve all been waiting to hear: Henry Cavill is back as Superman.

Following Wednesday night’s exclusive Black Adam screening, Entertainment Tonight seemingly spoiled the surprise. After mentioning that the “cat is out of the bag,” ET specifically asked Johnson how instrumental he was in getting Cavill back into the DCEU. Since the news had just been broken, Johnson gave a few vague details, which effectively confirms that, yes, Cavill is once again the Man of Steel.

"Well, here's what I can tell you. I can tell you that the whole goal and initiative of Black Adam was to build out the DC Universe by introducing not only Black Adam, but the entire JSA...and also, as I have been saying all along, there's an ethos that we at Seven Bucks [Productions] have...and that is we always put the fans first. So for years, audiences have been so passionate and vocal about—we've established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on our planet. But the fans have been so passionate about, 'Where is the most unstoppable force in the universe? Where is he?' Well, we've all been fighting for this moment, so I will say this: Welcome home."

After years of teases, it would appear The Rock has delivered on his promise.

Earlier this week ahead of the Black Adam red carpet premiere, Johnson had guaranteed that his Teth Adam and the Man of Steel would meet on the big screen. This came on the backs of rumors that Cavill and Warner Bros. Discovery had secretly negotiated his return to the famous role.

Of course, it’s not like Johnson has made it a secret that he wanted to square off against Cavill. For months, Johnson has hinted and teased that he was working behind the scenes to bring the star back to the DCEU. Meanwhile, there were rampant rumors that he was in negotiations with Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios. That talk only grew louder after DC’s massive letdown at their San Diego Comic-Con panel in July, which was rumored to be Cavill’s stage for his grand return. Then at last month’s D23 Expo, Superman fans held their breath.

After the actor didn’t appear at SDCC, many were drawing the conclusion that, indeed, he had jumped ship to the MCU. Gossip circulated that he would suit up as several possible characters ranging from Captain Britain to the X-Men’s Beast and even Doctor Doom for the Fantastic Four movie. When he was missing from that extravaganza, there was a collective sigh of relief from the DCEU faithful.

With that, it would appear that your faith has been rewarded, Superman fans.

The Black Adam moment will have major implications not only for the future of that franchise and the Justice Society of America, but it will have a ripple effect across the DCEU. The next question is, what does this mean for a future Justice League movie?

Keep up with what's going down!
