Media Release -- Graphic novel publisher Lion Forge Comics has signed a distribution agreement with Diamond Comic Distributors naming Diamond the exclusive distributor to the comic book specialty market and book markets worldwide, including comic book specialty stores, book stores, mass-market merchandisers, libraries and other outlets.

The St. Louis-based publisher creates comics that inspire a fun sense of nostalgia and energetic original stories using exciting fresh talent. Lion Forge is perhaps best known for Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven, a graphic novel biography of wrestling legend Andre Roussimoff, written by Eisner Award nominee Brandon Easton. Lion Forge appeals to comic readers of all ages with their Roar Comics imprint, which has produced Crystal Cadets, a series following the adventures of a group of teen girls using the powers of light to fight the forces of darkness.

Spotlighted in the February PREVIEWS catalog, Lion Forge introduces Madballs, a new ongoing comic series based on the popular gross-out 80's toys, which follows the all-new adventures of Screamin' Meemie, Brain Bash, Skullface, and the rest of Madballs. Comic fans can also pick up issue two of Lion Forge's new series, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, based off of the classic '80s western/sci-fi animated series of the same name.

"As a lifelong comics reader, it's important to me that Lion Forge titles are available to the incredible comic shops, bookstores, and libraries that serve as this industry's backbone," said Lion Forge CEO David Steward II. "I couldn't be happier that we're working with Diamond to make this happen; in a short time they've proven to be the perfect partner for our efforts to make our comics available to everyone."
"We are excited to partner with Lion Forge and expand their reach worldwide," said Diamond's Executive Director of Purchasing Tim Lenaghan. "Their titles bring a new vibrant energy to the comics industry, and we look forward to a successful relationship with them."
