Media Release -- Diamond Comic Distributors has been named the exclusive worldwide distributor for new comic book publisher, American Mythology. The agreement includes worldwide distribution rights into the comic book specialty stores, and into the book market under the banner of its sister company, Diamond Book Distributors.

American Mythology is a new comic book publisher with an impressive early line-up of titles, including fresh, new titles, and comics based on beloved licenses, including The Three Stooges, Stargate: Atlantis, and the Pink Panther. Some of American Mythology's contributors include Eisner-award winning artist Mark Wheatley, J.C. Vaughn, Andrew Mangum, and James Kuhoric.

In Diamond's March PREVIEWS catalog, comic fans can pre-order The Pink Panther #1, an all-ages monthly comic series featuring the classic Saturday morning cartoon character that has been a favorite for generations; the one-shot Eagle Resurgent #1, the first new chapter of the popular indie comic Eagle to be published since 1989; and issue #2 of the a new Stargate Atlantis series, Stargate Atlantis: Back to Pegasus #2:, continuing the original mission from the popular sci-fi television series. Fans can also look forward to a free copy of American Mythology's Pink Panther title available on Free Comic Book Day this year.

"American Mythology has a solid line-up of initial launch titles which should find success in both comic and book stores," said Tim Lenaghan, Diamond's Executive Director of Purchasing. "We are looking forward to working with their talented team and helping them maximize sales in both markets."

"We are very excited to work with Diamond Comic Distributors to deliver American Mythology's unique vision of licensed and creator-owned projects to comic book fans and retailers," said Michael Bornstein, publisher for American Mythology. "We have strived to develop an editorial plan that puts creators who are fans first in the driver's seat, and Diamond will see that our efforts get the widest and strongest possible distribution opportunities."

Bornstein is also looking forward to having Diamond Book Distributors bolster the visibility of American Mythology graphic novel collections to the book market.

"The most important element in selling graphic novels into the book market is having a sales team that understands the editorial and can work with buyers to make the best call for stocking their outlets," he said.
