GLENN BARR’S JANES FIGURE: TIKA

On sale May 14

Tika: Muse of Destruction

Approximately 6" tall x 5" wide

Limited to 500 pieces

$150.00

In the past ten years, an exciting new world of limited-edition “designer toys” has exploded worldwide. Tracing its roots to the Hong Kong toy scene in the late 1990s, this phenomenon refers to unique figures, produced in very limited editions, that are three-dimensional works inspired by contemporary artists. One of the best of these artists is Glenn Barr.

A primary theme in Glenn’s work is his “Janes” series, which are stylized young women in retro-looking space ships. We have gone to great lengths to reproduce these in 3D, and are proud to announce the result—four different pieces, our first offering is Tika. Tika’s fiery red hair, green eyes, and deep red lips speak of anarchy and confusion. Bombs away!

The manufacturing process involved includes roto-cast vinyl, injected plastic, and “blow-molding”, making these figures some of the most ambitious produced to date.

Sculpted by Steve Kiwus, painted by Kat Sapene, with personal participation from Glenn Barr.

The graphic story medium’s favorite moldering corpse is none other than Uncle Creepy. Exhumed from his crypt by Warren magazines in 1964, the titular host of Creepy magazine has cheerfully introduced many a scary story. As rumored in dark corridors, the stage is being set for his revival.

Dark Horse has finally reanimated the grisly old coot with a statue by none other than top sculpting talent Tony Cipriano. Using himself as a model, Tony has captured every detail—warts and all!

Painstakingly (and painfully!) talon-crafted by the claws of demon slaves of the netherworld, this knock-out statue is more fun than a coffin full of maggots. Get one before it gets you!
