Hello one and all! Here’s our latest Dark Reign update! We’ve only got a couple issues to review this week, but don’t worry, Marvel’s bringing it strong next week. As always, we’ll try not to give anything too major, but reader beware: SPOILERS AHEAD!

Deadpool #9Dark Reign Hawkeye #1 is a no-holds-barred, shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later barrel of excitement. He can turn any object into a lethal weapon, and he’s had his sights set on Daredevil for quite some time. He’s the man who needs no introduction: Bullseye–(er)–Hawkeye! You always knew that Bullseye was a villain, but he straight-up murders people in this issue.

Sure, the issue is a bit too violent for younger readers, but I was entertained from cover to cover and can’t wait to see how Osborn will handle Hawkeye’s roof escapade. You hooked me, Andy Diggle, you hooked me good and now I’m gasping for air.

If you’ve been following our Dark Reign Updates for awhile and want to pick up one of the best issues so far, look no further! See you back here next month for Dark Reign Hawkeye #2. We’ve also got Dark Reign Hawkeye #3, if you’re on board like me.

Agents of Atlas #3I’ve really been digging the retro-modern Agents of Atlas, and Agents of Atlas #3 didn’t disappoint. Like previous issues, there are two stories in play throughout: one set in the here and now, with art by Clayton Henry and Jana Schirmer and one set in 1958, with art by Gabriel Hardman and Elizabeth Dismang. Both tales are taking their time, but they are developing the characters of our heroes, and I’m interested to see if the two plots eventually intersect.

I think the main reason I love Agents of Atlas so much (JOSH!) is that it’s an old-fashioned superhero tale. Instead of being overwhelmed by bombast and shiny, scary villians, we’re getting to know each Agent individually–and each one is really interesting. I mean, how many teams consist of an Atlantean who spent decades trapped under the ice, a Greek “goddess,” an alien, a robot, a gorilla, and an old-school Asian secret agent? That’s right (JOSH!). None. So go ahead and pre-order Agents of Atlas #4!

So what’s your opinion? Are you as excited about Agents of Atlas and Dark Reign Hawkeye as we are?
