DC Comics, Top Shelf and Dark Horse offered their congratulations to the winners of this year’s Harvey Awards:
Dark Horse is honored to have Gabriel Bá and Dave Stewart working on The Umbrella Academy.
At the 2009 Harvey Awards at the Baltimore Comic-Con, Bá took home the award for Best Artist, while Stewart won for Best Colorist on the series written by Gerard Way.
Dark Horse is also proud to publish Wondermark by David Malki!, who was nominated for Best Humor In Comics and Excellence In Presentation.
Congratulations to all the winners and nominees!
On Saturday, winners of the 2009 Harvey Awards were announced at Baltimore Comic-Con, including several DC Comics creators and projects.
DC congratulates the winners and thanks all those who took part in the voting process.
DC’s 2009 Harvey Award winners are:
BEST COVER ARTIST
James Jean, FABLES
BEST CONTINUING OR LIMITED SERIES
BEST ON-LINE COMICS WORK
HIGH MOON, Scott O. Brown, David Gallaher and Steve Ellis, now available in the HIGH MOON VOL. 1 TP (JUL090259).
This past weekend at the Baltimore Comic-Con, Alex was honored with the Harvey for Best Graphic Album – Original, for his latest book Too Cool to Be Forgotten.
The Harveys, which are nominated and elected by a ballot of comic professionals, have crossed paths with Alex before: Box Office Poison was nominated in 2001, and 2006 saw Tricked win the “Best Graphic Album” Harvey. He now has a second Harvey, which joins an Eisner, an Ignatz, and an Angoulême Prize for Best First Book, on Alex’s crowded metaphorical mantel.
Congratulations to Alex and all the other Harvey winners!
