The recent release of Marvel's Eternals movie has provided hints and glimpses of what to expect for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Could we be seeing the MCU set up the debut of MI:13?

One character introduced in the movie is the hero known as Black Knight, portrayed by Kitt Harrington. The character being of English descent is notable as rumors of the possible introduction of MI:13 start to take off.

What is MI:13?

MI:13 (Military Intelligence Section 13) is an organization located in the United Kingdom that deals with paranormal situations. Notable figures of this organization include Captain Britain, Blade, Excalibur, and Black Knight. Marvel is focused on spreading ethnic diversity across the MCU as shown with the release of the Eternals movie and shows such as Ms. Marvel and Ironheart.

Captain Britain and MI13 is an under-valued series by Marvel that has key issues involving the characters mentioned above. Captain Britain and MI13 #1 is the first issue of the series and is also a notable key; the issue notates the first appearance of Dr. Faiza Hussain.

Hussain is known as the hero of Excalibur and also wields the famous sword. Excalibur was briefly mentioned and appeared in the Eternals movie. The possibility of more exposure for Excalibur is very possible down the line.

Another important detail included in the book is the origin of Captain Britain joining MI13. Captain Britain is known by the name of Brian Braddock, a name that has been mentioned in the MCU in Avengers Endgame. Lastly, rumors are swirling of Henry Cavill possibly taking the role of this character as his days for DC Comics appear to be numbered.

Blade and the Black Knight?

MI:13 is an organization where many heroes join the fight against evil. Captain Britain and MI13 #4 includes characters Black Knight and Faiza Hussain's joining of the organization. The issue also details Hussain claiming the famous sword of Excalibur. The following issue informs readers when the hero Blade joins the team.

Blade is already confirmed for a solo movie in the future and is being portrayed by Mahershala Ali. He even already made a brief voice cameo appearance in the ends credit scene in the Eternals movie involving the Black Knight and the Ebony Blade. So, we are already seeing that connection between Blade and the Black Knight form.

The series continues to build up to issue #8. This issue details the first time Blade and Black Knight meet each other. This is a sneaky and key issue between these two characters. It appears their collaboration in the MCU is almost guaranteed.

Conclusion

The possibility of these characters working together for MI13 does not sound so far-fetched now.

01In a way, this sets up the Black Knight possibly making a cameo appearance in the upcoming solo Blade movie. So, be on the lookout for these issues in your comic shops.
