Welcome back to this month's Psychedelic Art Exchange CGC-graded concert poster auction! Each month, Psychedelic Art Exchange has a CGC-graded focused auction, full of unique finds perfect for every type of collector. This month's auction has over 100 different posters ranging in grades, as well as restored finds. If you've never looked at a concert poster auction and don't know where to begin, that's ok! Here are a few of my favorite gems from this month's auction!

Grateful Dead Sacramento Memorial Collesium PosterĀ

The Grateful Dead is one of the most iconic bands from the counterculture era of the 1960s and 1970s. While their posters usually feature bright colors and groovy bears, this somber piece really plays on the dead part of their name! This poster evokes sadness or mourning, and reminds me of something you would frankly see in a funeral home -- which is why this poster is so unique! This poster was for the August 12th show at the Sacramento Auditorium show in 1972. This design was used a few more times, but it is still considered a unique design for the band!

This CGC blue label 9.6 is stunning. This is the highest-graded copy of this poster, making it a truly unique find. Currently, there is no sales data for graded copies of this poster, but ungraded copies tend to sell for under $250. This could be a great, inexpensive, and high-grade piece to add to your collection.

Jimi Hendrix / Jefferson Airplane Fillmore Poster

Despite his short-lived career and tragically short life, Jimi Hendrix is considered one of the best and most influential musicians in the modern era. The guitarist is still celebrated to this day, with many posthumous albums being released. Collecting Hendrix memorabilia can be expensive, but absolutely worth it. This BG-69 poster is for the first appearance of Jimi Hendrix at the Fillmore Auditorium in June of 1967. This was his first public appearance after the legendary Monterey Pop Festival, where The Jimi Hendrix Experience made its American debut.

This CGC blue label 8.0 is exceptional. When you think of posters from this era, this likely comes to mind. While there is no sales data on 8.0 graded copies, 8.5 has a one-year average of $3,900. If there is any one poster to keep an eye on in this auction, let it be this one. This is a great piece for collectors, and anyone new to collecting vintage concert posters!

Daily Flash Country Joe Avalon Ballroom Poster

Edgar Allen Poe is one of the greatest poets to ever live, as well as a Baltimore icon. It's nearly impossible growing up in this city without knowing where Poe lived, and also where he spent his last night before passing on. His image and poems are used often in posters and marketing, as is the case with this 1966 Avalon Ballroom poster for the Country Joe and the Fish band. This psychedelic rock group formed in 1965, and up until 2006 would occasionally reunite to perform together. This poster, while not really what you would think when imagining a psychedelic poster, is still really cool and deserves wall space! This OP-1 poster is also unique as it has the wrong show dates listed.

This CGC blue label 9.8 is as good as it gets. The one-year average on 9.8 examples is $270, making this an affordable, high-grade option for new collectors. There are two 9.9 examples on the census, but there is little to no sales data on them -- and don't let that deter you. A 9.8 grade is universally accepted as the high-grade most collectibles should strive for.
