CMX-HDMedia Release -- Today comiXology announced the availability of over 1,000 CMX-HD upgraded comics and graphic novels available for the new iPad. That's less than five days since the initial release of one hundred CMX-HD comics this past Monday in conjunction with delivery of the new iPad. The offering of 1,000 CMX-HD comics and graphic novels is over a tenfold increase in the initial amount available – at no extra cost to comiXology customers.

ComiXology released it's 3.1 iOS update with the debut of the CMX-HD format this past Monday; meeting the challenge of the new iPad's resolution with a brand new digital comics format. CMX-HD formatted comics and graphic novels are offered at no additional upgrade cost to comiXology customers who have previously purchased content and with no price increase for new purchases that are made available in CMX-HD.

Previous to this week's iOS update — which also included new sharing features with Facebook, Twitter and Email integration — comiXology, the world's largest digital comics platform available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and the Web, was most recently in the news when the company announced that they had crested over 50 million comic and graphic novel downloads to date.
