The first Event Auction of the year at ComicConnect will be wrapping up shortly. They have a lot of graded video games available for bids, including rare copies of graded games in addition to some unique games. Here's a look at some of the featured items.

Tecmo Bowl (NES)

1 of 6 Graded copies - 1st Print!

85 NM+; Rev-A; Round SOQ; Football Left; Original Roster

This game of guts and glory is a port of the 1987 Tecmo arcade game. It was released in 1989 and was the first console game to include real National Football League players, via a license from the NFL Players Association.

In the September 1997 issue of Nintendo Power, staff members voted Tecmo Bowl into 3oth place on a list of the top 100 games of all time. Both GameSpot and Time Magazine have also listed Tecmo Bowl on lists of all-time greatest video games.

In a WATA 9.4, this game sold for $144,000 on 1/30/22. No VGA sales are yet listed.

Tekken (PS1)

1 of 3 WATA GRADED COPIES2ND HIGHEST

This graded long-box copy has an A+ Seal Rating; Cardboard Longbox; No Country; T Rating(Pixelated).

Tekken is a port of the 1994 Namco arcade game, which only included 8 playable characters versus the port's 17. Guinness World Records awarded Tekken with multiple records in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2008.

These include, "First PlayStation Game to Sell Over One Million Units", "First Fighting Game To Feature Simulated 3D", as well as a record for the entire series as "The Best Selling Fighting Series for PlayStation Consoles."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (GEN)

A+ Seal Rating; First-party Tube Seam; Clamshell; Made in Japan; No Rating.

Heavily based on the second TMNT arcade game, Turtles in Time, TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist is a 1992 side-scrolling beat 'em up game developed and published by Konami for the Sega Genesis.  It was Konami's debut title for Genesis.

Though the game has been criticized by many for being too simple, the graphics have been praised across the board.

Last month, a Wata 9.6 sold for $31,200 through Heritage.

Shantae (GBA)

A++ Seal Rating; First-party H-Seam; Made in Japan; E Rating; 83% Fiber(USA Code)

This is the first title in the "Shantae" series.

Shantae became obscure due to the unfortunate timing of its release -  a year after that of the Game Boy Advance. Since, however, it has received favorable reviews and garnered recognition. It's been listed on multiple lists of best games on the platform and has been given cult status by some reviewers.

It was re-released via the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in 2013, making the game available in Europe for the first time.

An identically graded Wata 9.8 sold for $12,600 through Heritage back in 2020. Where will it land at ComicConnect?

Barbie (NES)

1 OF 1 WATA GRADED

A++ Seal Rating; First-Party H-Seam; Rev-A; Oval SOQ R; 3 Screw Cart.

1 of 8 on WATA Population Report.

Barbie is a multi-platform video game based on Mattel Inc.'s doll of the same name. Uniquely for the time, it was created solely as an attempt to get more girls to play video games. As such, it is one of the few explicitly girl-oriented NES games.
While there is no sales data on this one-of-a-kind Wata 9.8, a Wata 9.6 sold through Heritage on Jan 17, 2021 for $1,200.00 and a Wata 9.4 sold through ComicConnect on Dec 19, 2021 for $705.00.

Bases Loaded 4 (NES)

1 of 1

This is the highest-graded copy of this game.

A+ Seal Rating; First-Party H-Seam; Rev-A; Oval SOQ R; 3 Screw Cart.
Final game in the NES "Bases Loaded" series.

Bases Loaded 4 was released in November 1991 in Japan and April 1993 in North America. The game is the fourth installment of the Bases Loaded series and the last of the original NES series.

While there is little sales data on this game, it's worth noting that a Wata 9.0 sold in 01/2022 for $2,040 through Heritage.
