There's never a slow week when it comes to comic auctions. This week, ASM #4 brought in a tidy sum, and several auction houses get ready to launch their next offerings. Here's the latest in Comic Auctions!
First Appearance of Sandman goes for $5,280 at Heritage - The at Heritage closed yesterday, bringing in a chunk of money for a 7.0 graded first appearance of a favorite Spider-Man villain. Most recently, Amazing Spider-Man #4 in a 7.0 had sold for $5,040 (Heritage, 7/5/21), $4,700 (ComicConnect, 4/13/21), and $3,249 (eBay, 11/18/19.) This sale price exceeds the current FMV of the book, which sits at $4,600 at the time of this writing.
The top three highest sales at the auction came in at $32,400 for a 3.0 graded Amazing Fantasy #15, $26,400 for a 6.0 Amazing Spider-Man #1, and $13,800 for an X-Men #1 graded 3.5.

Worth watching – 80 Page Giant #8 Secret Origins – Pacific Coast Pedigree CGC NM/MT 9.8 Off-white to white pages. This is the highest-graded CGC copy of this book, which reprints the origin stories of the Justice League of America, Superman, Batman & Robin, the Atom, the Flash, and Aquaman. This book sold on Heritage in 2019 for $5,760, though its estimated FMV has grown over the years.
Also – Batman #198 (DC, 1968) CGC NM/MT 9.8 with off-white to white pages. This is another book achieving the title of the highest-graded in the CGC census. This all-villain issue is also known as 80 Page Giant G-43. This book last came to auction in August 2019, realizing $4,200, which is also its current FMV.
