San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 21, 2008 -- CDNetworks, (KOSDAQ: 073710) a top-three global, full-service content delivery network (CDN), today announced that Comflix Studios has selected it as the exclusive provider of content delivery technology for its comic book inspired network, SPLASTK. Comflix is the creator and producer of a new generation of comic book and graphic novel-inspired digital entertainment based on an advertiser-supported business model.

Comflix Studios is "Bringing Comic Books to Life" for a new generation of digitally-savvy comic book and graphic novel fans. As a content creator, audience/website aggregator, ad sales marketer, and producer and distributor of animated content, Comflix is leading a new generation of comic book-based entertainment. The company develops and creates motion comics from both existing intellectual property and original creator-driven material. Comflix distributes this "programming" across the web and sells integrated advertising sponsorships.

CDNetworks is delivering Flash progressive downloads to optimize end-user viewing of the rich content on the SPLASTK website. CDNetworks' first project with SPLASTK was a successful two-week campaign, in August 2008, in support of the release of Babylon A.D., with Vin Diesel, a 20th Century Fox theatrical film. This campaign generated 3.3 million page views in 20 days. Based on the success of this campaign, CDNetworks was awarded the exclusive CDN contract for all of the content on SPLASTK, including serial installments of "Hero by Night," "Cowboys & Aliens," and "The Adventures of Mark Grimm." From October 15 through 24, 2008, the CDNetworks-powered SPLASTK network will feature the advertising campaign in support of the DVD release of this summer's successful Universal Pictures and Marvel Studios theatrical release of "The Incredible Hulk."

"The SPLASTK audience is a new generation of digitally-enabled online viewers who expect flawless, free-flowing content delivery," said Rick Karo, President and CEO of Comflix Studios, Inc. "CDNetworks is doing an excellent job as our content delivery partner. They have enabled us to easily deliver content across the SPLASTK network and distribute content to all of our affiliate partners. CDNetworks provides exceptional reporting that ensures accurate and detailed tracking of viewer data, traffic data, and content data."

"The traditional model of print comic book and graphic novel distribution is being enhanced and expanded through this new and exciting model. Comflix is providing the 21st Century-version of the comic book experience with the rich, seamless, audio and video experience that the digital generation expects," said Simon Lee, CEO of CDNetworks US. "Comflix is providing both exceptional, high-quality content and a means for its partners and affiliates to generate revenue. CDNetworks is proud to support this exciting new endeavor."
