Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most famous men in the world, starring in a number of blockbuster hits -- such as Titanic and The Wolf of Wall Street -- and has earned his place among the best A-Listers in the world. But outside of acting in celebrated movies spanning the course of over two decades, DiCaprio also is an avid action figure collector. Collecting action figures isn't out of the ordinary, but knowing a celebrated Oscar-winning actor also collects them is pretty cool.

His collection comprises of vintage figures from Star Wars, He-Man, Planet of the Apes, and more. In 2006, Scoop covered some of DiCaprio's collection which had gone up for sale at a Morphy Auction. Pieces included some mint condition Star Wars figures that were still in their original, unpunched cards.

One item, a rare vinyl Jawa from the first wave of Kenner figures, fetched over $4,000 by itself. DiCaprio does sell pieces of his collection for charity, so you never know when you'll come across pieces that once belonged to him!

Action figures from all eras -- both graded and raw -- can be worth thousands of dollars.

Grading companies such as CGA, AFA, and PSA have made it easier for collectors to find figures and toys they want in the condition they want, but raw action figures are still just as desirable. Let's take a look at a few pieces from some of the most popular collectible franchises.

He-Man is one of the most sought-after collectibles in the action figure market, with many of the playsets and figures fetching over $1K respectively. In July of 2022, an Eternia playset sold for $1,900 on eBay. That same month a sealed, on-the-card Skeletor Laser Light Power figure sold for $2,100. Loose figures can also fetch decent money. In August of 2022, a He-Man figure with no accessories sold for $560 on eBay.

Kenner Star Wars figures are also some of the most collectible toys of all time, with many figures fetching thousands of dollars in auctions.

In 2018, Heritage sold an AFA-graded 85 Bib Fortuna (red Cape) Loose Action Figure prototype from 1983 for a staggering $31,200. This is an extremely rare figure from Kenner, and one of the few that has been graded. In August of 2022, an ungraded Boba Fett figure -- still new on the card -- sold for $4,935 on eBay. A lot of prices will depend on character, scarcity, and condition -- but Star Wars has proved time and time again that they are one of the premier collectibles in any hobby.

By now, we all know just how valuable the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are.

From comics to toys (and everything in between) turtle power has a tight grip on the collector's community. In July of 2022, a complete set of five, new on-card Dino TMNT figures were sold on eBay for $4800. These were released in 1997, and featured the famed turtle team as a hybrid dinosaur turtle, while antagonist Shredder was a hybrid Tyrannosaurus Rex. A similar lot sold on Heritage in February for $4,400, so this may be a line of figures to look out for.

Even TMNT Troll dolls are valuable, which may surprise some of you. In August of 2022, a CAS-graded 80+ Giant Troll Leo sold on eBay for $2024, while on Heritage an ungraded lot of three -- Mikey, Leo, and Don -- sold for $3360.
