CBLDFMedia Release -- This year at Comic-Con, take a glimpse inside the creative process of comics' most talented artists at the CBLDF Master Sessions. Created in collaboration with Comic-Con International, CBLDF Master Sessions is a series of art demonstration events showing the creative process live on the big screen in a large classroom style room at the Con. Participants in this year's Master Session series include: Dave Gibbons, Mike Mignola, Jeff Smith, Jim Lee, Jill Thompson, Charles Vess, Terry Moore, Camilla D'Errico, and David Mack. All art created during the CBLDF Master Sessions will be auctioned off to benefit the Fund at our Saturday night auction!

12:00-2:00 CBLDF Master Session: The Painter's Process with Jill Thompson and Charles Vess - Bring your sketchbook and your questions to this first-hand view of the creative process of two of comics' greatest painters! Jill Thompson (Magic Trixie) and Charles Vess (Sandman) take you step by step through the painting process at this live art demonstration. 1:00-2:00 CBLDF Master Session: "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" Life Drawing with Camilla D'Errico, David Mack, & Terry Moore - Bring your sketchbook and witness how illustrative masters Camilla D'Errico, David Mack, and Terry Moore draw from life as internationally renowned performer Amanda Palmer poses at this CBLDF Master Session! Amanda is the creative force behind Who Killed Amanda Palmer?, a book of photographs accompanied with stories by Neil Gaiman, and the critically acclaimed album of the same name. Palmer will establish the mood for the event, while the artists translate her dramatic poses into their own distinctive styles. 1:00-2:00 CBLDF Master Session: The Art of the Panel with Jeff Smith - Every comics page is an avalanche of creative decisions. The successful comics storyteller must move the reader not just through the larger story but through each panel, conveying crucial story information with clarity, economy, and flair. With his nine-volume masterpiece, Bone, and his new series RASL, Jeff Smith is a proven master of comics storytelling. Bring your sketchbooks and your questions as he gives an in-depth view of the process of building a successful comics panel. 12:30-2:00 CBLDF Live Art Jam - Witness live art created before your eyes by comics masters and bid on the chance to carry one home! Join Jim Lee, Terry Moore, and surprise special guests as you get a glimpse behind the scenes of their artistic processes! The Live Art Jam is a treat for fans and students alike. All art will be auctioned to benefit the First Amendment legal work of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. You will need a bidder number to bid on art at this event, which will be distributed at the start of the event. Winning bidders will be able to claim their art from the CBLDF's booth 1920. Room 5AB
