What happened?
After getting the initial green light from CBCS, we worked with their team through the integration and laid the technical foundation into the GoCollect codebase.
After successful testing from both sides, the integration required a final approval to launch within the GoCollect interface.
Upon seeking approval from the parent company of CBCS, approval was denied. This was through no fault of GoCollect but was instead due to a misunderstanding about data-sharing practices between staff members of CBCS.
Final Word?
The CBCS census will not be integrated at this time, so the "coming soon" messaging has been removed from our site.
Could we see CBCS census data on GoCollect in the future? We sure hope so. The CBCS parent company is working with us to try to find a solution that meets the collecting community's needs in a future GoCollect release. Nothing is impossible.
For now, though, please enjoy the CGC census data we have available, CBCS and CGC sales data, and the plethora of other sales figures and data we have available to our users. We remain committed to making collecting better for every collector. Other exciting updates are coming soon, so keep an ear out!
