Cartoon Art MuseumMedia Release -- The Cartoon Art Museum and The Latino Comics Expo are proud to announce Noche de Latinas, an evening with Latina comic book artists discussing their craft, their inspirations, and how they manage to navigate in the “macho” world of comics. Bay Area Creators Gabrielle Gamboa (Miss LonelyHearts), Crystal Gonzales (In the Dark), Liz Mayorga (Spunkycatcomix.com) and L.A.-based artist Grasiela Rodriguez (Spadra/Lunatic Fringe) will share their stories and experiences, as well as their best practices in creating independent comics, zines and web animation.

This event takes place on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Cartoon Art Museum, and is free and open to the public. Noche de Latinas is held in conjunction with the current exhibition La Raza Comica: The Latin American Experience in the Comic Book Arts, on display at the Cartoon Art Museum through September 30, 2012.
