About Litquake:
The Litquake festival works to foster a thriving literary community and to complement the city's music, film, and cultural festivals. It started as a one-day event in 1999, and has since grown to be a 9-day festival that includes national and international authors, and holds events to please an array of interests and age groups. It is currently the largest independent literary festival on the West Coast of the U.S.; and, while Litquake began in San Francisco, it now hosts localized Lit Crawls in New York, Austin, and will debut in several new cities this year.
