Cartoon Art MuseumMedia Release -- The Cartoon Art Museum hosts artist Mike Reger on Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 1pm to 3pm as part of its ongoing Cartoonist-in-Residence program. Museum visitors will be offered the chance to talk to Mike about cartooning and view his work. This event is free and open to the public.

The artist's bio reads as follows: "Mike Reger is a cartoonist and San Francisco native. He works with an organization of other artists, Mission Minicomix (http://missionminicomix.com), making minicomics. The group was originally inspired by punk shows in the Mission during the 90s, plus a whole lot of comics and art. He's been self-publishing on and off for about 14 years. The subjects of the comics are eclectic: local and global politics, artsy weird stuff, dark, philosophical stuff about San Francisco, drug use, comedy, satire, autobiography, and so on. He works in other mediums as well, like painting. His work can be seen in several murals around S.F., but most of them have been defaced. He's never been nominated for a Harvey, Ignatz, or Eisner award. His stuff is still pretty neat though, and you should check it out."
