With a bevy of collectibles under their umbrella, Goldin's current auction is a proverbial toy aisle for collectors! Currently, collectors can bid on graded items including VHS tapes (the newest collector's item), trading cards, video games, and of course -- comic books. Let's take a peek at some of the goodies up for auction!

1987 Nintendo Entertainment System's Mega Man

With over a week left in this auction, the first entry into the iconic Mega Man series is already over $40,000. This sealed, VGA graded 85+ is one of the finest examples of this game to come up for auction.

This game always commands top dollar --- in April of 2021, a WATA graded 9.4 sold for $144,000, a significant price jump from the $75,000 sale of a similarly graded game in November of 2019.

While we can't predict what the market will do, there's a good chance this game will double in price by the end of the auction, and possibly surpass $144,000.

1991 SEGA Mega Drive Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog was a worldwide phenomenon when it hit shelves in 1991. While Americans might have played the plucky blue hedgehog on their SEGA Genesis, Europeans got to enjoy it on the SEGA Mega Drive (which is truthfully just another name for the Genesis).

This European copy of Sonic the Hedgehog is a fun collector's piece, and its ending price will likely surprise us all. With a different cover than the American counterpart, this would be a worthwhile investment for a die-hard Sonic fan.

No previous sales data exists for similar games.

1977 Topps Star Wars Signed Near Set (330)

Nothing like this has ever been offered before. This almost complete set of 1977 Topps Star Wars trading cards features a signature on almost every single card -- except four, which are still authenticated and graded.

Signatures include Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, and more. This impressive set is already sitting at $43,000 at the time of writing, but the price will likely double by the end of the auction. This is one hell of an investment piece, or for the Star Wars fan with deep pockets.

1939 DC Detective Comics #27

What else can be said about this game-changing comic? The first appearance of Batman is one of the hardest Golden Age comics to come by at any grade.

This CGC Universal 6.5 shares that grade with six other counterparts, while only eight other Detective Comics #27's grade higher.

This book will always be valuable. The last time a similar 6.5 sold was in 2015 for $725000.

If you have deep pockets, now is the time to buy this rare book.

1984 Star Wars Factory-Sealed VHS

The sealed VHS grading phenomena has taken the collectors world by storm, and I for one am completely invested in it. Collectors and sellers are charting these waters with little to go on -- almost every VHS sale shows us what's possible with this hobby.

This sealed VHS of the 1984 Star Wars release boasts an impressive grade of 9.6 from VHSDNA, and at the time of writing these bids are sitting at $3,000. I predict this VHS will end at around $6K, but it's anyone's guess where it could end!

The May Goldin Elite Auction closes on May 21.
