This recent essay by Lethem, titled "Crazy Friend", makes its U.S. print debut in the pages of issues #9-12 of DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? The essay tells of Lethem's journey as a Philip K. Dick fan—from first discovering Dick's novels, to eventually becoming a contributor to the estate run Philip K. Dick newsletter.

Lethem's novel, MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN, won several awards, including the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction and was named Book of the Year by Esquire. His novel, FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE, was named one of The New York Times "Editor's Choice" Books of the Year and has been published in over a dozen languages. He has received a MacArthur Fellowship and also co-wrote the Marvel Comics mini-series, OMEGA THE UNKNOWN.
