Boom StudiosMedia Release -- Diamond Comic Distributors has been named the exclusive distributor for BOOM! Entertainment to comic book specialty store markets worldwide.

Founded in 1995 by Ross Richie, BOOM! Studios publishes bestselling comic books and graphic novels with the industry's top talent, including Mark Waid's IRREDEEMABLE, PLANET OF THE APES, Clive Barker's HELLRAISER, 28 DAYS LATER, and Philip K. Dick's DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP?. BOOM!'s all ages imprint KaBOOM! publishes Charles Schulz' PEANUTS, Jim Davis' GARFIELD, Cartoon Network's ADVENTURE TIME, Roger Langridge's SNARKED, and Scholastic's WORDGIRL. BOOM!'s lit comix-focused imprint, BOOM! Town, recently won the Eisner Award for its first book, Shannon Wheeler's I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE FUNNIER.

"Joining Diamond exclusively not only makes good business sense for BOOM!, but will better serve comic book specialty retailers in many ways," said Ross Richie, BOOM! Entertainment's Founder & CEO. "Retailers will see a better discount on our products as we will move from Diamond's F Discount (45% off) to an E Discount (50% off); better fill rates on comic book reorders; and our entire graphic novel backlist inventory will now be available for immediate ordering."

BOOM! titles will also be joining Diamond Digital, Diamond's upcoming initiative to sell digital comics through brick-and-mortar comic book specialty stores.

"We are very proud to add BOOM! to our client roster," said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing Bill Schanes. "They have shown remarkable staying power and continue to produce top quality comics and graphic novels for the market. I expect retailers will take advantage of the change to order and stock even more BOOM! related titles and products."
