Goldin has auctioned thousands of trading cards, collectibles, and other pieces of memorabilia and serves millions of customers globally. Since their founding, they've sold over 1 Billion dollars worth of trading cards, collectibles, and memorabilia.  Goldin's May Elite (Sports, Comics, and Entertainment) auction opens on May 4 and closes on May 21. That's plenty of time for you to check out all of the awesome entries. Here's a sneak peek at a few!

Massive auction sales are not a new thing at Goldin, and they've had some major names move across the auction block over the last year. Their CGC 9.4 Journey into Mystery #83 sold for $312,000, a record price until April's $432,000 sale. Goldin's CGC 9.8 Incredible Hulk #181 realized $87,330, another record until this past April, and a BGS 9 2013 Spider-Man Fleer comic card was sold for $132,000, a record that still stands.

This auction promises to be no different, offering a wide variety of comics, video games, and other high-dollar collectibles. Even a car once owned by Tupac!

Goldin & Rally Partner on Batman #1

In a particularly unique offering, Goldin has partnered with Rally to auction a CGC 8.0 Batman #1. Marking the start of the Batman comics franchise and featuring the first appearances of The Joker and Catwoman, this release remains a true grail in comic history over 80 years later.
Graded CGC 8.0, this copy is one of the finest preserved examples in existence, with only 7 copies graded higher. Rally's copy is further distinguished as a member of the Larson Collection, visibly apparent by the “Larson” signature present on its front cover.

Have you met Rally yet?

The first of its kind, Rally is now one of only a handful of platforms offering fractional ownership of some of the most sought-after pieces in the world of collectibles, including (lucky for us!) comics and video games.

That means that this isn't just another bid-to-win auction item; here's the breakdown.

Only 180,000 shares will be available to qualified investors at a price of $10.00 per share. Once the initial offering is fully funded, this 1940 Batman #1 comic book will be professionally stored, maintained, and insured on behalf of the investors.

1939 Detective Comics #27 - CGC 6.5, Cream to Off-White Pages

The last time a Detective Comics #27 in this grade came to auction was Feb 21, 2013, when a copy sold for $567,625 through Heritage.

Since then, a CGC 5.0 has sold for $1,125,000 (06/2021), a 4.5 has realized $1,140,000 (01/2022), and a 7.0 has reached $1,500,000 (11/2020).

Based on those numbers alone, it's likely that this copy will cross the million-dollar mark. And why shouldn't it?

We all know what makes DC #27 important - it's the first appearance of Batman/Bruce Wayne and a Golden Age beauty. The cultural impact of the Bat cannot be denied, but let's compare him to some other firsts.

The first appearance of Captain America in Captain America Comics #1 recently made headlines when a CGC 9.4 sold for $2.9M. However, when it comes to the 6.5, Cap'n's most recent sale was in 2018 for $175,200. Last year, Spider-Man's first appearance in a CGC 9.6 Amazing Fantasy #15 sold for a groundbreaking $3,600,000, though the 6.5's most recent sale came in just shy of the 100-grand mark at $99,999.99

Neither holds a candle to Batman's $567,625 in the same grade. So, where will this one land? Without recent data in this grade, it's hard to say exactly, but it's definitely one worth watching and, should you have the ability, investing in.

Tupac Shakur Personally Owned H1 6.5L V8 Hummer - Original Registration

It's not every day you see the last car West Coast rap legend Tupac Shakur ever bought hitting the auction block, but here we are!

Tupac purchased his Hummer just one month before his untimely passing on the evening of September 7th, 1996. The car then fell into his mother's possession, where it stayed until it was auctioned back in 2016.

The jet-black four-door hardtop H1 is equipped with off-road wheels and tires, Dick Cepek off-road lights, brush-guard, diamond-plate bumpers, a 12,000-pound winch, 360-degree spotlight, and an external PA system with three sirens. The interior is trimmed in burl wood and beige leather, with a 12-disc Clarion sound system and Sony GPS.

This car brought in $337,144 in 2016 after being auctioned by Tupac’s mother.

1988 NES Nintendo Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (USA) Sealed Video Game - Wata 9.6/A+

One of the many high-grade sealed video games is this Legend of Zelda, Wata graded 9.6 with A+ seal rating.

Wata 9.6 A+'s of the classic Legend of Zelda have sold twice for $156,000 (1/30/22 & 11/1/21), both sales through Heritage Auctions. The only other sale recorded for this grade was on Sep 13, 2020, for $50,400. Obviously, the market for this game has taken a steep incline. Is it sustainable?

Zelda's impact on the video game world is vast and lasting. Not only is it an early example of open-world, nonlinear gameplay, but it also introduced battery backup saving. Zelda laid the foundations for later action-adventure games that also sell frequently at auction.
