- THE NEXT HOT IPO: THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE - A copy of the Declaration of Independence is hitting the sizzling collectibles market just in time for July 4th. Rally, a trading app for classic cars, baseball cards, and other memorabilia, told CNN Business that next month it will offer 80,000 shares to the public of a copy of the Declaration of Independence printed in July 1776.
The item is extremely rare, one of just 20 copies from that period that are in private hands. It was previously displayed at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Each share will cost just $25, making it a $2 million initial offering. Read more!

-BUYERS BID FOR CHANCE TO FIND A $15K POKEMON CARD - In this currently-running Heritage Auction, you can find unopened booster packs from a previously sealed box from 1999. The auction began on June 1 and will be live for two weeks, culminating on June 15.
Even if you don’t toss your hat into the ring, the real fun will be watching the live event that starts at 1 p.m. CST on June 27. After all the packs have been claimed during the two-week auction, you can stream a live event in which each pack will be opened at Collect-A-Con in Frisco, Texas.

-FIRST PRINT OF TMNT #1 AND X-MEN #1 AMONG OTHER GRAILS UP FOR AUCTION - Over 400 CGC Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics star in Hake’s Auctions’ June sale, online June 8th. Highlights include books from a nearly complete Silver Age comic collection. It features nearly every Marvel key, something sure to excite collectors. Two books of note are a CGC 9.2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 (first printing) and a CGC 5.0 copy of X?Men #1, featuring the debuts of two of comics’ most popular teams.

THE OREGON COAST COLLECTION - The year was 1969, and the United States of America had just gone through one of the most traumatic years in its history. Americans turned their eyes towards outer space and watched man setting foot on the moon for the first time on July 16, 1969. This same era brought a wave of creativity and new characters, as Stan Lee and the gang at Marvel Comics introduced The Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Wolverine; killed off established characters like Gwen Stacy and gave supporting heroes like Silver Surfer their own title. Not to be outdone, Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams teamed up to introduce Ra's al Ghul in Batman #232 in June of 1971,
During this time, from 1969 to 1975, a collection of nearly every issue (and in some cases multiple copies) was being sealed away in the perfect conditions of the Oregon coast. -TOM BRADY ROOKIE CARD SELLS FOR RECORD $3.1 MILLION - Tom Brady’s rookie cards continue to make the coveted Honus Wagner trading card seem like old news. Specifically, a 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket No. 144 Tom Brady rookie autograph card went for $3.1 million through Lelands, shattering the prior record of $2.25 million. RARE SIGNED WILT CHAMBERLAIN BASKETBALL CARD BREAKS RECORDS - This is one of the rarest pack-released basketball card autographs of all time. Wilt Chamberlain is only featured in two Upper Deck sets before his passing in 1999. This “Level 2” parallel is of the rarest variety, serial-numbered to just 13 copies. Additionally, it has been assigned a grade of Gem Mint 10 from PSA making this one of only two in existence to achieve this grade. Take a look.
TWO NGC-GRADED VINTAGE CHINESE COINS PEDIGREED TO THE NC COLLECTION REALIZE OVER $1 MILLION EACH - A Chinese coin realized $1.34 million at a Champion Macau auction that ended May 30, 2021. It more than quadrupled its pre-auction estimate of $150,000 to $300,000. The China YR 3 (1911) Silver Dollar Long Whiskered Dragon graded NGC MS 64 features a fully struck dragon with stunning detail and rims with sharp, raised leaves. It is possibly one of the first coins struck off a new die design.
Another NGC-certified coin from the NC Collection that surpassed $1 million was a China YR 33 (1907) Tael Chihli graded NGC MS 63. One of the finest known and one of the most coveted of the Chinese dragon Tael series, the coin flew past its estimate of $200,000 to $400,000 to realize $1.15 million.

-BECKETT SUSPENDS MOST GRADING SERVICES - Beckett Grading Services will temporarily stop accepting most trading card submissions next week. Like its competitor, PSA, Dallas-based Beckett has a backlog of ungraded cards that’s so large that collectors and dealers have been waiting months for orders that used to be completed in weeks. Beckett President Jeromy Murray says all grading submissions other than the Premium Level service will be suspended after Monday, June 7. As of June 7, CBCS, which is owned by Beckett, appears to still be accepting submissions. Read more.
