Cartoon Art MuseumMedia Release -- The Cartoon Art Museum is proud to collaborate with the Kearny Street Workshop during the return of their signature arts festival, APAture, by hosting their Comix & Zines Expo on October 19th, 2013 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. This festival presents and examines the work of emerging Bay Area Asian Pacific American talent in visual art, film/video, literary/book arts, music, performance, and experimental media.

The Kearny Street Workshop is in its fortieth year, making it the nation's oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary arts organization whose mission is to produce, present, and promote the art that empowers APA communities. APAture is made up of an all-volunteer, peer-based committee that is responsible for planning, coordinating and staffing the festival events. The festival will feature about 80 artists and provides the platform to raise awareness about these emerging artists and their creativity, and to strengthen the sense of community among artists.

The Comix & Zines Expo will be held in the gallery of The Cartoon Art Museum and will give visitors the opportunity to get into the DIY spirit at their one-day fair that features artist tables, crafts, workshops, screenings, and a ton of interactive fun. The artist, Eddie H Ahn will also be present during the event.

Advanced tickets are $5/$7 at the door. Event tickets and festival passes are now available at Brown Paper Tickets: apature2013.brownpapertickets.com
