Hottest Comics Top 10

Hottest Comics Biggest Movers

Time to dive right in! Though, this week was pretty difficult! A few of these I couldn't find much on. So I need your help! What are you guys seeing out there?

The Inhumans

Up 939: The Inhumans #1

The first self-titled comic series. 6 sold in the last week compared to the 3 the week before. The most someone paid was for a 9.8 which sold for $339. This was below the estimated FMV that is currently at $350. There is a 9.4 that is on auction with Heritage that ends in 3 days - the current bid is at $1. There are currently 1,766 copies on the CGC census. 283 of those are 9.8s and 286 are 9.4.
This was the first issue of the self-titled comic series. Released in 1975, it's the cover price was $.75. Due to the Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D tv series, there has been quite a speculation on this series in general. The last episode was aired last night so maybe during the hype to that people were highly interested in this copy? I personally don't watch the show. Any of you guys? Let me know in the comments!

Reborn

Up 934: Reborn #1. 9 sold in the past week compared to the one the week before. The most expensive issue sold last week was a 9.8 that sold for $110. This was almost double what the estimated FMV is currently, which is $60. There are currently 232 copies on the CGC Census. The most common grade is 9.8s with 200. This is a modern comic, released in 2016. The original cover price was $3.99.

In 2017, Netflix bought writer Mark Millar's company that includes his works. Since then, they have been working with Millar on projects. This past week it was announced that Bek Smith has been brought on to create the screen adaptation of Millar's Reborn comic series.  The series is being produced by Sandra Bullock. My guess is when this news hit, enough people were intrigued to get this issue early.

Saga

Hottest comics

Up 922: Saga #1

Spot 25. 10 sold this previous week compared to the 5 the week before. The most expensive one was a signature labeled 9.8 that went for $617. there are currently 4,090 issues in the CGC Census currently. The most common was 9.8 with 2,855 copies. There is a copy of this on the same Heritage auction that ends on the 17th. It's currently at $105. This is a modern comic released in 2012.
As long as I've been searching... I can't find anything in this series. Its most recent issue came out a year ago. Currently, I don't see anything going on with this series. Help me out! Let me know what's going on in the comments.

Umbrella Academy

6 sold last week compared to the 3 the week before and the zip the week before that. There really isn't a surprise here - I've even been considering collecting this series. But it's this specific issue that jumped the charts, not the first issue. There are currently 143 copies on the CGC Census with 9.8 being the most popular. The most impressive sale was a 9.6 signature copy that sold for $859 off of eBay. Compare that to an average of $70 for the same grade standard copy.
I have adored this series on Netflix - to the point that I watched season two in its entirety in a matter of two days. If you are not familiar with the series, go check it out! There was a similar jump about a year ago as well. Likely around the time the first season was released and became widely popular. The wraparound art by Lee is stunning work as well - so that doesn't hurt! This specific issue, Dallas #1, makes perfect sense as season two is all about the estranged sibling group getting stuck back in time in Dallas, TX trying once again to save the world.
Have you seen this series yet? Let me know what you thought in the comments below.

Strange Academy

7 sold this past week compared to the 1 the week before that. The most someone paid was $395 for a 9.8. That's over the estimated FMV of $325. There are only 86 copies of the CGC Census with 85 of those being 9.8. Overall the values for 9.8 have increased by 86%. This is a modern comic sold this year.
This is another one that I couldn't find much on. With it being released so recently and no announcements about a movie or series deal lately... Possibly, since Magik is on the cover this one is gaining popularity due to the New Mutant movie. Other than that I've got nothing. Are any of you into this series? What are you hearing? Let me know!
