Media Release -- Comic-Con International has announced the 2012 finalists for the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award. The panel of judges deciding this year's award included Michel Buster (Diamond Comics new account representative), Andy Mangels (best-selling author), James Robinson (award-winning comics writer), and Eric Stephenson (Image Comics publisher), along with last year's Spirit Award recipients, Danny Amitai and Yamal Sharon of Comics & Vegetables in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The five finalists for the 2012 Spirit Award are:
Akira Comics, Madrid, Spain
Bridge City Comics, Portland, Oregon
Challengers Comics + Conversation, Chicago, Illinois
The Dragon, Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Happy Harbor Comics, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
This year's award recipient will be announced during the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards at Comic-Con International. The awards ceremony is held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront's Indigo Ballroom, starting at 8:00 pm.
